Arts in our community

THE CHALLENGE

Bringing harmony to our arts and business community

In 1990, we were asked to join a select group of professionals to launch a new idea for Berks County, Pennsylvania—a three-day festival to promote the arts and stimulate business in the community. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to put our marketing, art, and musical experience to work. The Berks Jazz Fest was born, and the inaugural event debuted in 1991.

The master brand positioning and logo designed by Mike Anderson is still used to promote this event, welcoming musicians and audiences from around the world. Over the years, we’ve offered marketing and design support, stage managing and production assistance, plus on-stage performances.

“The commitments by Mike and the Anderson Group team have been a driving force behind the Berks Jazz Fest’s successful three-decade journey.”

John Ernesto , Berks Jazz Fest General Manager

Mike organizes and performs for The Berks Horns, an ensemble which adds another dimension and power to performances by world-renowned artists. Their yearly presence is a reminder of the unique community connections forged by the festival, and by the Anderson Group’s commitment to that goal. The mission of Berks Arts is to inspire, engage and unite our community through arts education, collaboration and presentation. We continue to support that mission as the Berks Jazz Fest (now officially titled the Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest) is about to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
